Katmai’s core staff of engineers initially provided technical and management support within the aerospace and defense industry, but then evolved into information systems specializing in high level technology systems engineering, integration, testing, and technical support for commercial and government applications.
The staff is predominantly comprised of engineering professionals, who specialize in Operational Requirements Definition, Software Development and Maintenance, Software Independent Verification and Validation (IV & V), and C4I Systems Engineering Services.
Katmai provides assistance to customers in all phases of developing and managing their software. These phases include initial concept and planning, continuing through design, development and test. The final phase concludes with providing ongoing support during software maintenance, improvement and conversion phases. |

Katmai operates and maintains a fully functional Software Development Laboratory (SDL) and a Systems Test Laboratory (STL). The SDL supports U.S. Government software development and commercial programs.

The STL is capable of completely simulating a real-time model of theater-level combat operations for the U.S. Air Force’s Modular Control Equipment (MCE) system and the U.S. Marine Corps Tactical Air Operations Module (TAOM) system. Both systems are C4I systems providing the USAF and USMC with mobile tactical air combat and air control capabilities during war and peace time operations.
Our STL test engineers provide support to our software engineers by developing test tools, simulation devices, test plans and procedures, and detailed test scenarios. These test plans, procedures and scenarios are all prepared under processes governed by our Quality Management System (QMS) which has been certified at Level 3 by the Carnegie Mellon Institute Capability Maturity Model. |
