Katmai Research is a team of highly experienced engineers. Although each of Katmai’s engineers has areas of specialization, their cumulative expertise covers an impressively broad spectrum.
We are experienced at combining legacy languages (such as FORTRAN and CMS-2) with traditional languages (such as C, Pascal, Ada, and C++) and modern languages (such as Perl and Python). In cases where no domain-appropriate example exists, we are capable of creating a “small language” as a solution. Katmai’s staff is accustomed to a broad range of abstraction from close-to-the-metal (firmware, assembly languages, hand-coded machine language patches) all the way up to meta-language environments (UML, sophisticated scripting). Additionally, we have experience with language translation, and have successfully translated and maintained large code bases that we have translated from a legacy language to Ada, C, or C++.
Katmai’s staff has worked on projects in which a variety of environments had to be managed and combined. This may be the target environment (incorporating Solaris, Windows, VxWorks, and a proprietary OS), or the development environment (incorporating IBM Rational, Microsoft Visual Studio, the open source GNU toolkit, and the legacy MTASS development suite). What sets Katmai Research apart is not only our willingness to tackle complex software engineering tasks, but also our ability to master them. |
